Need help and advice on Drama Schools?

I'm applying to the London drama schools this year - please could I have advice and tips on what to do for my audition and what not to do? ~recommended speeches? (i'm 18 female) ~what to say, what not to say etc... I'm nervous that i'm going to be unprepared.

  1. First of all go super prepared. Find a monologue from a published play, that SUITS YOUR AGE. Do not do a piece that is out of your age range. Also, do not something that's out of your emotional range, for example, don't do a piece about being married with kids if you've never had that experience. Read the play, find out all about your character. If you're doing a song, make sure that's age range as well. Make sure when you go in you try and find the light source, so that the auditors can see your face. If they can't see your face, they will deduct points! DO NOT LOOK AT THE AUDITORS WHILE SAYING THE MONOLOGUE. Makes them super uncomfortable. Also, make sure you wear things that are appropriate for the audition. If you get a callback, I know this sounds gross, but wear THE EXACT SAME THING. So many times the auditors will get confused because they can't find the "girl with the pink dress" because she's wearing an orange one this time. Last but not least, be confident! They want to see who you really are. Don't hold back. Hope this helped!
