  1. you could watch movies/shows or whatever and whenever a scene is acted you could act it out in front of your mirror, or you could look up scenes and act those scenes out and then watch how the person acted out the scene and compare.
  2. Go on the net. Find a monologue that you like, investigate what and who the character is. Study the play itself and find out what the personality etc. of that particular character is. Then learn the monologue and experiment with different ways of projecting and speaking, with whatever emotion and body language you think should be there. If you are in a larger town or city and there are agents near by who deal with extra work on film, sign up for EXtra work. This in itself will start you on the road to serious acting and will give you experience in front of a camera, even if it is only in a crowd scene. You have to get a head shot done first, then find an agent who does not charge very much. The money an agent makes should be from a percentage of the money you receive from the work they get you. If you want to be an actor, do not let anything deter you away from your dream. Be determined and everything will come to you. Take a video of yourself playing a particular character and then study it. What could you have done better. What was your body language saying. Did your voice have enough of the emotion that was needed. You can teach yourself, by observing yourself.
  3. Be in all the plays your can. You can't practice in front of a mirror as you cannot be actor and critic as the same time. You don't need to do all that analysis crap. What you can do is memorize long speeches from Shakespeare and recite them out loud.
  4. well, how old are you? find a community theater that you can take part in if you're not yet in higschool or older, and also if you're in higschool, but if you ARE in higschool, look more into the highschool plays because many more peers will see and recognize you which will help
  5. 1. Join Alpha Psi Omega the national honorary theater fraternity. You will learn ALL aspects of theater from acting, directing, lighting, sounds, the works. Your link is below. 2. Get involved with your school, college or community theater and audition for everything. You'll learn way more doing than reading. 3. That being said, get a library card and use it to read books on acting, biographies, books on directing and more. 4. Hunt around YouTube.com for acting videos. 5. Take classes near you. Even a crappy class at a tiny community center can teach you the basics and let you actually TRY some acting ... you may not like it. Then again, maybe you will. Again, my top recommendation is Alpha Psi Omega.
