What is the best route to take to become a performing arts teacher?
I am currently still in secondary school but would like to know what college/uni courses I should take to be able to teach performing arts

- There should be a degree program for each of the performing arts (music education, drama education, etc.) offered at most universities. You do a lot of the practice stuff that someone studying to be a professional performer would do, but also all of the education theory behind it. Once you complete one of these programs, you can get certified to teach in your area of specialty.
- most universities have course catalogs that tell you what classes you need for a specific major & credential. These are usually set up sequentially & not always offered every semester. Contact a university you are interested in and obtain a catalog. For performing arts you will be required to do everything a performance major does for freshman, sophomore, & junior year, then the paths usually diverge a bit & educators get teacher theory & practicum courses.
